The Name Game!!

The weekend has passed and I have had several days now to let it sink in that I can begin to actually enjoy my pregnancy and look forward to (or fear) the arrival of the two wiggly girls that are currently calling my uterus home. I have less than 6 (six) months to come up with two (not one) names. I had one in mind, which I no longer will be using so the pressure is on. Here is where you come in. I need your help in naming "the girls". I made a button on my side bar that will link directly to this post. No pressure to come up with anything right this minute, or before this post makes its way down the archives. If you come up with something, click on that little button, and make your suggestion.....all the way up until the point of delivery. I will be coming up with fake names for these two as I have with my other three, however if I choose the name or names that you suggested, then I will let you know and you will be a priveledged soul who knows the true name or names of the little baby girls. I will be entrusting you with that knowledge. (Hee hee!) So, let the game begin. Come up with something good for me, will ya? I'm all tapped out!

This will be interesting! So you've decided totally not to use the "matching" name that to the boy's name? Does that make sense?

Good luck and have fun!!

The girls names that I've liked (and some I've used) are:

Emelie Caedmon (Industrious, striving/wise warrior)

Ariel Christina (pronounced R-E-L, not Air-E-L) (Lioness of God/Follower of Christ)

I've also liked Hannah, Ellie, Emma, Madeline, Bethany, Naomi, Samantha, Brooke, and I'll probably think of some more later.

Oh Kristen, I could have big fun with this.

Are you wanting a matching set of names, or two completely different names?

I like Reagan and Kennedy, but you couldn't really use them both without being way too presidential.

Amelia
Elizabeth
Savannah
Holland (which was going to be Luke's name, but oops, he's Luke)

I'll have to come back when I think of more.

TWO names...I never thought about having to come up with not one, but two names when having twins. Oh my.
Hmmm...I'll have to think about this.

Had my DS been a girl, he would have been named Haley- I love that name. But, since I can't have any more, you can use it. ;)

Another girl's name I always liked was Caitlin... never sold DH on that one, though. Our DD's name just kind of came to us.

Ok, I like:
Anna Kathryn and Emma Caroline
I didn't use these nice southern names at all, but if I were having anymore, I would.

I like Amy's suggestion, too. :)

I am still too excited about being excited for you...will have to think about it.

Many, many hugs and warm wishes for a healthy and happy pregnancy!

Sniff...I am still so relieved! Geesh, names already? I can only come up with Thing One and Thing Two. It is what my husband affectionately calls my his daughters (my step-daughters, whom I adore!).

So, I will keep thinking.

You take care of you and those girls and the rest of your brood!

Smiling and happy for you-

De-lurking to play the name game...

I'm a little partial to 2 of these names:

Landrie & Logan (Landrie's my oldest)

Karsyn & Kamden (Karsyn is my youngest)

Have fun!

Names are so much fun and you get to pick TWO! :-) I have no names to offer but small suggestion instead. Do some research about whether or not to give your twins matching/rhyming/same initial names. I got some great advice from adult and teenage twins who hate, hate, hate their matching names as well as some insights from various parenting books.

The girls could be called " Lily" and "Lauren".or the M & M girls with names of " Molly " and " Madison "..It is fun to pick and choose.

We had a hard time coming up with girls names w/ our 1st as we wanted the sex to be a surprise. Here's few though:

Brooke
Ava
Tessa
Jenna

Great idea to enlist help though! May try this if we decide to have a third!

I vote for:

Bella
Noelle
Lilly
Mallory
Sophie

or a power name like:

Sheerah! ...but then you need a second power name and it may be too much power in the house...

Whatever they're named...I'm excited to just see the little ladies!

Stay healthy!

These girls need special names. God's hand is definitely on them and He puts great store in names. He not only knows us by name, He knows the individual stars in the sky by name, and He knows exactly how many hairs are on our heads. So here are my suggestions:

Amber Elizabeth (Amber was a gem stone used in healing--this is appropriate for a little girl who was healed by God's hand, Elizabeth means Consecrated to God--I can't imagine such a little girl being anything BUT consecrated to God)

Callie Vanessa (Callie means Beautiful Voice--someone able to give God the praise He's due, Vanessa means butterfly--something that has been changed by the hand of God from the old to the new)

I have Bible verses that go with these names if you care to pursue my humble offerings.

It would be terribly difficult for me to choose just a few names from the collection I have grown over the years of having 6 boys, so I'm happy to share some of my favorites (this is just a couple of offerings).

Emmalyn
Annalia
Emmaleigh (Emily)
Naomi
Ruth
Hannah
Ruby
Emma
Tirzah
Faythe
Amanda (Mandy)

And the list could go on and on . . . so I'll stop here!

Congratulations again and good luck naming them. Just a side note . . . because we had named so many boys already and I had picked out a boy name I loved, hubby and I decided to each name one and as long as the other one didn't HATE the name that is what they'd be named - and it worked!

Oh, I forgot . . . Lilyanna

I'm so glad you get to have FUN now!!! Yippee!

Ok, I'll throw:

Tessa Katherine and Chloe Nicole

in the mix.

the only advice I ever heeded when I was pregnant was this-

"When picking out a name, go to the back porch and yell it at full volume, over and over and over again cause this is basically what you'll be doing for the next 18 years of so. If it sounds good then? You have a winner."

Good Lord - you're never gonna be able to decide. I have twin daughters (15 years old) - visit my blog, there's lots about them there - I'm so happy for you - they are such a joy!!!! I recommend you come up with one name you really, really like and then go from there. If you chose matching names (that start with the same letter) it becomes easier to come up with the second name. If not matching names, look to relatives middle names (sometimes they are very different). I even have friends that use their last name (maiden - like Campbell) as their childs name. I like the name Cassidy for a girl, myself. And Mallory. My name is unique (Kellan) and I have a cousin that names her daughter Mary-Kellan (I wished I had thought of that. If you name one of them after me - let me know. Good luck with your girls - I pray that they bring you as much joy as mine have brought me. See Ya.

I love this idea!! I haven't read all of the suggestions yet, so mine may all be duplicates, but here's what I think:

Lily
Avery
Eva
Megan
Malia (it's pronounced like Maria, but with an L instead of the R -- that's my youngest daughter's name and I just LOVE it)
Cassidy
Sophie
Grace

Good luck!!
(I may be back if I think of other ones...)

I knew twins years ago who were named Ruth and Naomi - as someone above suggested and I always thought that was neat! But some other names I like(d)in no particular order are as follows:

Abbie
Sarah
Elise
Lauren
Rebekah
Hannah
Sydney
Elizabeth
Renee
Anae
Annika
Jordan
Grace
Michaela
Aspen
MacKenzie
Kelsey
Nicole
Paige

- Just to name a few. Hope that helps! I went to baby name world {dot} com for help with a middle name with the meaning we wanted for blessing number 3. HOH!

Sweet blessings!

This is my first time visiting but I thought I'd say congrats and play the name game too. I've always liked Isabella, Cameron (Cammie), Callee (my dtrs name), Jadyn, Catina, Jacey, Lacey, Lauren, Brenna, Bree, Avery, Cambry, Kiley. This is kind of hard, because you want something that will go with the other names so who knows, but good luck.

My eldest daughter is Timoni (Tim-o-nee) - the o sounds more like ah. Then I had Tara and if I would have had another girl she would have been Tessa but I had two boys instead.

I like to incorporate family names so would go with parents middles names maybe - as a first or middle name. Ours are all M names - Marie, Marisa, Maureen, Mary, Majesta, Maria-Rose, Mae.

Dawn would be a pretty first or middle name. I have a friend who named her twins after her mom and her mom-in-law - I can't remember the names exactly but she reversed them. One was - for an example, Kristin Dawn and the other Dawn Kristin.

My sister Shannon wanted to incorporate grandfather's names so name one daughter Jessica Alyn (my Dad is Allen).

You have a hard task before you. I will be praying!

I like Breeze and Autumn, but that is me and you may hate them both, but they are unique and not every little girl will have them. One thing about names for the future. Sometimes there are 2 or 3 kids in a class with the same name. This makes it difficult in the primary grades.

Two more - Mary and Martha - not because my name is Mary but because Mary and Martha are two great biblical names.

Blessings to you and your girls.

Mary
