This is Mom/Grandma Dawn updating you this morning.
Mike and Kristen didn’t get out of the doctor’s office until 5:00 (3 hours). She was on the ultrasound machine for a long time, as they tried to determine if it was safe to do the test on the babies. They determined they couldn’t yet do it safely. In the meantime, they did assure them that the babies were developing, both kicking, and the mass they were looking at last week seemed smaller. That’s the really good news. They asked her if she was planning to terminate the pregnancy if they did the risky test anyway and the news was really bad. She said they were not planning to terminate the pregnancy at all. So the doc said they might as well wait a couple more weeks to do an amniocentesis.
She has been so sick, as you know. Neither doctor, her own or the specialist, seemed to have any advice except that "it should get better as time goes on." It was getting worse. She's tried 3 different meds and none have helped. She couldn't even keep Mylanta down, and was suffering from acid last night.
By 10:30, she was so sick that they finally went to the emergency room. She called at 5:00 this morning from the hospital here in the town where she works instead of where she lives, because that’s where her ob gyn is. Sheis terribly dehydrated, and also has a UTI, which was a total surprise.
Blogger has been down all morning, so I am sorry it has taken so long to get this posted. Of all days for them to be down!

Thanks for updating Dawn! It's great news that the mass looks smaller! And I am so sorry that she is so sick. That really stinks. Thanks again for the update!
Thanks Dawn. I went to bed worrying and woke up thinking of her. What good news that the babies are getting bigger and stronger.
Glad to hear that she's being cared for at the hospital. I hope the rest and treatment will help her feel better.
Still praying. Pass love to her and Mike.
Bless her heart, more waiting. Still, this is promising news and I'm so glad.
Sorry she's still so sick though...Jessica was too if you remember. They gave her Phenergan (sp?) salve to rub on her wrists because she couldn't even keep water down. She got so dehydrated she had to have IV fluids and she threw up so much blood vessels in her throat ruptured and she threw up blood. The salve really helped Jessica so Kristen might benefit from it too.
Still praying, Dawn and Kristen.
And yes, Blogger and Google have both been down today. Really slow or not working at all. Grrrrr!
Love and hugs,
Diane
Still praying. Thank you for updating us Dawn.
Thank you for updating us. Glad to hear the babies are growing and developing! Will continue praying for the babies and for Kristen.
Still praying...
I had severe hyperemesis (constant vomiting) with both my pregnancies. There's a medication pump that can be worn 24/7 that worked for me... with it I could keep a few things down each day. Please don't let those doctors just tell you "it will get better"-- push for help-- there's no sense in suffering more than you have to! The UTI and dehydration are both common with hyperemesis, too... I hope they will be able to find the right combo of meds to help with this!
Thank you for the update, Dawn...I've had her so much in my mind wondering what had happened at the doctor's office. She really is being put through the wringer, the poor girl...hopefully she'll soon start feeling better! xox
Thanks for updating us. I'm so sorry to hear of her nausea and UTI. Glad to hear the babies are moving and kicking...that is wonderful. I'll keep praying.
I will keep your family in my prayers! I hope that she will get more good news next time.
Thanks for the update Dawn. I have been checking since last evening and praying for all of you. I'm so sorry she is feeling so sick. I pray they'll find something to make her feel a bit better.
More waiting...but it is beginning to look better. We will just keep praying. God is faithful.
I found you through 5 Minutes for Mom. My heart goes out to you, but more importantly my prayers. I was really encouraged by the sermon that was spoken at your church on Sunday. While I was reading it, and also knowing that the doctor's are going to wait to do any testing, I felt that the Lord is giving us more time to pray for healing of your babies before any test are done.
I will also be praying for you and your health as well.
I will continue to pray for the health and safety of the babies as well as some relief for Kristen!!!
Blessings!
Oh Kristen, I'm so sorry for the sickness you are enduring. I am hoping it's all for a great reason . . . because the babies are developing pefectly! I have hope for you. I fell asleep praying for you last night. I pray now that you can make it through the next few weeks without much anxiety and with the sickness easing up. I know you don't know me, but I just feel really close to you as you go through this. I hope you don't mind me following along.
(((big hugs)))
Val

My thoughts and prayers continue to be with Kristen, the babies and your entire family.
I'm so sorry that she is having such a hard time. It sounds promising that the mass looks smaller! Prayers will continue from here. And I'll be praying that she gets some relief from the nausea too.
