Anakin's B.M. (biological mother for those who aren't familiar with her) left a message on our phone the other night informing Mike that his wife is "ugly".
Later in the evening, Care Bear told me I'm "beautiful". Whether or not it was appropriate, I told Care Bear that Anakin's B.M. doesn't think I'm beautiful. She told me, "Well, Mommy...we need to pray that Anakin's mommy likes you.".

On a fun note....I get to go to a raging birthday party tomorrow afternoon for Mrs. Suburbia's daughter who is turning two. It promises to be fun. I will be posting pictures from the event. Happy Birthday Miss Charley!

It is true, our children can humble us and teach us many things.
Anakin's B.M. is sure a thorn in your side!...But we are supposed to love our enemies aren't we.
Anakin's BM is a pretty sad person, don't you think? Imagine being small minded enough to leave a message like that on your machine.
Thankfully the child is the bigger person.
Kids just have a way of reminding us the Love of Jesus.
Wow. How rude. It makes me sad for her that she apparently doesn't care anything about respecting the family that Anakin lives in.

oh yeah. S hit me with one of those not long ago. Sigh. The faith of a child.
Prayer is always the best way to get over that kind of stuff. Difficult as it may be, praying for the well being of someone you dislike will really soften your heart towards them (ask me how I learned this...after years of bitterness!)
I love the way they see live in such simple, straightforward terms. She is so sweet.
Let's see......the BM of my step son has called me:
"Stupid wife"
"Ugly B*tch"
"Whore that stole your dad from me" (Even tho I met Chris 2 years after his divorce)
"Step-b*tch"
You name it. It stings. And it hangs on for a while. But Care Bear is right. And even though I pray hard for BM's eminent death...I do try and pray for my attitude to change. She will never like me and I'm fine with that.
And Kristen...you are not ugly. I think you know that. If we had to score on inner beauty alone, we all know who would lose in a big way.
Hang in there.....
I pray Anakin comes out unscathed! He's blessed to have such an incredible "S-Mom" that loves him and siblings that help keep perspective!

I read this post the other day and didn't comment, but have thought about it since. It makes me so sad that someone would say that, and I hope your heart isn't hurt by it. What your little Care Bear said is true and most important. Precious. This other person obviously does not know you... I don't even know you really, but I think you're beautiful.
